Details
The lake provides the Pittsfield area with a prime recreational area. The 200 acre lake is surrounded by approximately 480 acres of recreational land.
Offerings
The Lake and recreational land offers boating, fishing, RV and primitive camping, hiking, picnicing, tennis courts, softball diamond, soccer field, playground equipment, shelters and other general outdoor activities. Lake Pittsfield also provides a wonderful area to observe and enjoy nature and the out-of-door. The 200 acre lake is located within a 480 acre park. The camping area is equipped with non-potable water hookups, electrical hookups, public telephone, lighted areas, and a trailer dumping station. FEES: The camping fees and boat launching fees are set by the City Council and are subject to change. Contact the City Clerk’s Office at (217) 285-4484 for the current fees. All maximum horsepower restrictions are removed. All lake waters are no wake and idle speed only. Water skiing and swimming are prohibited. For additional information and a copy of the City Lake Brochure and permits can be obtained at the City Clerk’s office at 217-285-4484 or from the Park Ranger located at the Lake. Following are the boat launching fees and camping fees.

The cost to set a tent on an RV pad is $20 per day. All additional tents on the same RV pad is $5 each.
Getting there
The City Lake is located approximately 2 miles east of U.S. 54 and 1.5 miles north of Il 106 in sections 9 & 16 of Newburg Township or approximately 2 miles east of Pittsfield.
