The Street and Alley crew will be patching gravel spots in the pavement this week. They will be starting this morning on Jefferson Street just West of Memorial Street, North of the Christian Church. Please avoid this area if possible.

Thank you to the City Crew for getting the dock at the east boat ramp installed yesterday. Also a huge thank you to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for their generous funding, in making a significant progress in enhancing access to our waterways and promoting recreational activities at our lake!

The Pittsfield Fire Department will be holding their 5k run tomorrow at Pittsfield Lake at 10AM. There may be road closures along the route to ensure the safety of the participants. The route is from the around the ballpark area to the East boat ramp turn off.

REMINDER: Road construction will continue today on Franklin St from Adams St South to Fayette St and Memorial St from Washington St South to Fayette St. There will be temporary road closures as the new asphalt gets put down. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause. Thank you!

A Used Tire Collection has been scheduled with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to assist local units of government throughout Pike County in disposing of tires. The City of Pittsfield will collect tires on October 14th and 15th from 7:30 - 3:30 pm. Tires may be brought to the Public Works Building at 735 North Monroe Street. This is a free collection service for City of Pittsfield residents. Please bring proof of residency. Please note this is residential disposal only, tires will not be accepted from businesses.

The painting project on the Uptown water tower has been completed, and the tower is now fully operational. This includes the reopening of the bulk water sales station at the base of the tower.

Our regularly scheduled brush pick up is Monday the October 7th. We may be finishing up the road work the first of the week but our crew will be around after that is completed to pick up the brush.
