Dear Pittsfield Community, We're reaching out to update you regarding recent communications concerning unknown materials in our water services. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has mandated that we send a letter to all residents regarding unknown service material status in our system. With over 2000 connections, conducting this inventory is quite a task. However, please rest assured that we're diligently inspecting our system, and as of now, we've found no evidence of lead in our water services. We understand that receiving such a letter can be disconcerting, and we want to address any worries or confusion it may have caused. The safety and well-being of our community are our utmost priorities, and we're committed to ensuring that our water supply meets all safety standards set by regulatory authorities. While the letter was sent as a precautionary measure, it's important to emphasize that there's currently no indication of lead in our water services. Nonetheless, we urge residents to remain vigilant and report any concerns or observations regarding water quality to our dedicated team. Our team will continue to inventory and closely monitor our water supply, conducting regular inspections and testing to ensure that our residents have access to clean and safe drinking water. You can assist in this effort by checking your water service as it enters your home, documenting the material, and relaying the information to us. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to maintain the highest standards of water quality and safety for our community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Shane Allen Utilities Superintendent

We have received the following update from our Municipal Aggregate Program: "Since our initial meeting, We have been working with Homefield to secure approval to move forward. We were notified late yesterday they have received internal approval to move forward with the group. We are now waiting for final pricing and term length options to share with the group. Market pricing has begun to move up from the low point we discussed and we are working diligently at securing the best possible rates and terms throughout this week. Our goal is to have a more detailed communication early to mid next week once rates and term options are finalized, followed by a signing date of late next week or early the following week. We will keep you updated." You may have received a letter from Constellation. You do not need to take any action to remain on the city aggregate program and will switch automatically to Homefield when we have finalized the contract. The current Constellation rate is .121/kWh we anticipate that the Homefield rate will be approximately .08/kWh
